Sporting Opportunities

The school prides itself on its ability to offer a rich and diverse curriculum, with extensive extra-curricular opportunities, including sporting, musical and creative activities.  Unusually, we believe we have captured the 'small school' ethos with 'big school' opportunities.

We work in a strong partnership with North Wiltshire Sports Cluster Allicance when organising sporting activities and festivals when children from a multitude of school come together to primarily have fun and enjoy a variety of sports.  At Broad Hinton Primary School we have always fostered relationships with coaching organisations and the local sporting community and clubs.  As a result of the government's investment in school sport, we are able to formalise this and enhance this work further and regular opportunities for children to work alongside coaches from many areas of sport have increased children's participation and eagerness to try new sports outside the school day.

Sporting participation last year  within our North Wiltshire Sports Cluster includes:

  • participation in the Year 4/5/6 girls football at St Sampson Primary School - 1 team
  • participation in Year 3/4/5/6 cross country festival at Braydon Forest Secondary School - 2 teams
  • participation in Year5/6 swimming festival at Wootton Bassett Lime Kiln- 1 team
  • Winners in the Year 4/5/6 gymnastics festival at Braydon Forest School - 1 team
  • participation in TAG rugby festival at RWBRFC
  • participation in the Year 5/6 dance festival at RWBA
  • partipation in the KS1 mixed football at RWBA
  • partipation in Year 5/6 netball festival at RWBA
  • Athletics festival at Swindon Harriers
  • Year 5/6 boys football match aginst Lyneham
  • Year 5/6 football  match against St Sampsons
  • Year 5/6 volleyball festival
