Sporting Opportunities

'Thank you for making my daughter's experience fun.  She has loved everything from the sports, to, in her words, the learning.'  Parent

The school prides itself on its ability to offer a rich and diverse curriculum, with extensive extra-curricular opportunities, including sporting, musical and creative activities.  Unusually, we believe we have captured the 'small school' ethos with 'big school' opportunities.

We work in a strong partnership with North Wiltshire Sports Cluster Allicance when organising sporting activities and festivals when children from a multitude of school come together to primarily have fun and enjoy a variety of sports.  At Broad Hinton Primary School we have always fostered relationships with coaching organisations and the local sporting community and clubs.  As a result of the government's investment in school sport, we are able to formalise this and enhance this work further and regular opportunities for children to work alongside coaches from many areas of sport have increased children's participation and eagerness to try new sports outside the school day.

Sporting participation last year  within our North Wiltshire Sports Cluster includes:

  • participation in the Key Stage 1 mixed football at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy
  • Devizes Netball League matches throughout the year for Year 5/6 children
  • WINNERS SECOND YEAR running for our Year 5/6 netaball team at Royal Wootton Bassett Academy
  • participation in the Key Stage 2 cross-country run at Bradon Forest Secondary School, Purton
