Our strong link with Desai Memorial School in Nairobi began in September 2006; our small Wiltshire School, our governors, Goddard Park Academy Swindon and Swindon Rotary Club have worked together to enhance the children's knowledge and understanding about the ways of life of people in other parts of the world, and the challenges they face on a daily basis.
Partnership working has included:
- the joy of sending harvest gifts of clothes, sports equipment and shoes
- exciting communication through letters, photographs, Christmas cards, Easter cards and diaries
- in the past regular visits to the Desai School by our teaching staff
- even the adoption of a baby elephant; Chemi Chemi
- raising money through our Charity Days to support the retention of teaching staff
- raising money through our Charity Days to support the construction of water pipes for clean water access.
