History of School
A village school nestled in the beautiful Wiltshire Downs, in an area of outstanding natural beauty. We were founded in 1743 by Thomas Benet, from a wealthy local family, and taken over by the Local Authority about 100 years later. We pride ourselves on the welcoming and family atmosphere we create for our children, parents and community. We provide opportunities for all our children to learn and achieve within a happy, safe, structured and disciplined Christian environment, including gifted children and those with specific needs.
Here at Broad Hinton School, we are proud of our educational heritage and the fact that generations of children have left the school with a love of learning, well prepared for secondary school and adult life. We encourage pupils to develop as creative, innovative and responsible individuals within a learning community that values the input of the pupils themselves as well as that of parents, governors, the church and the wider community.
The school has excellent facilities, as a result of a recent major building programme, and prides itself on its ability to offer a rich and diverse curriculum, with extensive extra-curricular opportunities, including sporting, musical and creative activities. Unusually, we believe we have captured the 'small school' ethos with 'big school' opportunities.
