“Governors have an accurate view of the school’s strengths and what needs to improve. Together with leaders, they have focused on staff well-being. This has strengthened the staff team. Staff feel well supported and valued by leaders. They appreciate the consideration that leaders give to managing their well-being and workload.” OFSTED Inspection November 2022

“Governors know the school well…..Governors and leaders routinely evaluate the curriculum’s impact.  This ensures it continues to improve….Inclusivity is a golden thread through its work….Mental health and wellbeing are priorities for leaders….Leaders work meticulously to continually develop the curriculum.”  SIAMS February 2025.

Governors, through consultation and support, represent the lay interest, which is a valuable contribution to the school. They are involved in the curriculum, the school budget, making decisions that concern the buildings, the use of school premises out of school hours, and the appointment of staff. Governors spend time in school during normal school hours and take an active interest in all aspects of school life. The Governors meet once per term. Broad Hinton’s Governing Board operates in accordance with agreed our Circular Model Terms of Reference and meets regularly. Minutes of Governors’ Meetings are available for inspection in school. If you have any reason to make a general complaint, we operate within the guidelines of our Complaints Policy (copy available from Admin Office). Complaints of a curriculum nature should be addressed to either the Governing Body, or the Local Authority.
